Founding Engineer

Build an AI legal-research product from zero. 0.5-2% equity. Ex-FAANG founders.

As a Founding Engineer at Stealth AI Startup, you'll join a small, senior team building AI-native legal products from the ground up. You'll work daily with Cursor, Claude, n8n to design, ship, and scale features that customers use every day. This is a high-ownership role — you'll have direct input on what we build and how we build it.

• Mentor junior builders and contribute to engineering standards
• Build retrieval, RAG, and agent pipelines that scale to thousands of concurrent users
• Architect end-to-end legal workflows that integrate LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) with internal systems
• Optimise inference cost, latency, and reliability across services
• Collaborate with product, design, and customer teams to translate business problems into AI solutions
• Own the full lifecycle of features — from spec, prototype, A/B test, to rollout
• Lead architectural reviews for new Legal initiatives

• 7+ years of experience as a Founding Engineer or in a closely related role
• Strong written communication — you can document decisions clearly
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or both
• Strong hands-on experience with Cursor / Claude / n8n in real production environments
• Bias for shipping — comfortable owning ambiguous problems end-to-end
• Experience with prompt engineering, evals, and prompt-versioning workflows
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, queues, and event-driven design

• Comfort with Kubernetes, Terraform, or modern infra-as-code
• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or DSPy
• Open source contributions to AI / dev-tools projects
• Familiarity with Cloudflare Workers / serverless edge runtimes

• Work on problems that genuinely move the needle in Legal
