AI Engineer Intern · Summer

3-month summer internship building recommendation copilots.

As a AI Engineer Intern · Summer at Nykaa, you'll join a small, senior team building AI-native e-commerce products from the ground up. You'll work daily with Python, ChatGPT to design, ship, and scale features that customers use every day. This is a high-ownership role — you'll have direct input on what we build and how we build it.

• Own the full lifecycle of features — from spec, prototype, A/B test, to rollout
• Lead architectural reviews for new E-Commerce initiatives
• Instrument observability — eval pipelines, prompt versioning, cost dashboards
• Write clean, well-tested code in Python / TypeScript and review PRs from peers
• Design, build, and ship production-grade AI features using Python, ChatGPT
• Mentor junior builders and contribute to engineering standards

• Experience with prompt engineering, evals, and prompt-versioning workflows
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, queues, and event-driven design
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on portfolio
• Comfort working with vector databases (pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate)
• Have shipped LLM-powered products to real users (not just prototypes)
• 0–2 years of experience as a AI Engineer Intern · Summer or in a closely related role
• Strong written communication — you can document decisions clearly

• Familiarity with Cloudflare Workers / serverless edge runtimes
• Past work in the E-Commerce domain
• Open source contributions to AI / dev-tools projects
• Comfort with Kubernetes, Terraform, or modern infra-as-code

• Work on problems that genuinely move the needle in E-Commerce
• Direct ownership — your code reaches real users within days, not quarters
